Tekuma and Leviathan Submarine in Persian Gulf

According to a London newspaper, the three German-built Dolphin submarines, Tekuma and Leviathan equipped with nuclear missiles and sent into the Persian Gulf. The first submarine is all sent to the area to counter the threat from conventional missiles developed by Iran, Syria and Hezbollah. At the same time the Israeli military leadership has decided to have a permanent presence of the submarines with nuclear weapons in the Persian Gulf.

Any measure

The Israeli submarine has a crew of between 30 and 50, including a colonel, as if it is necessary with firing missiles on board. The submarines could be on cruise in about 50 days at a time and can stay in the submerged condition in up to one week.

Cruise missiles on board have a range of 1,500 kilometres and some of them are equipped with the most advanced nuclear warheads Israel has in its arsenal, writes from The Sunday Times. They can reach any target in Iran, said a source in the Israeli Navy to the newspaper’s correspondent in Tel Aviv.

In addition to meeting racket threat against Israel, the submarines also pursue the collection of intelligence information and are able to land agents of the Israeli intelligence service Mossad.
