The Defence Regions of Medya- Qendil Mountains: Democratic Confederation of Kurdistan (KCK) said that the Turkish military operations and the air strikes by the Turkish warplanes are carried out as a response to the peace-call by Kurdish national leader Abdullah Ocalan.
KCK’s Executive Council also said that due the air strike, held by the Turkish army on 20th of May in the region’s Xinere and Xakurke, four guerrilla’s lost their lives and five guerrilla’s were wounded.
KCK said that the attacks, supported by air strikes, are continuing from the Dersim region up to the Zagros-mountains and that these attack’s are a response to the Kurdish national leader Abdullah Ocalan’s call for peace and dialog. Last Wednesday, at the meeting with his lawyers, Ocalan made a last call for peace and said: “I’ll wait till 31st of May. After that, if there is still no positive development, I’ll withdraw from all this”.
In the statement KCK said that instead of considering the peace requests of Kurds and peace supporters, the Turkish state begins with the new air strikes again after a year. “This operation is not only causing the severity of further escalation, but it also reveals the real intention of the Turkish state and the AKP-government.”
The statement also drawn the attention to the latest attacks of Iran and said that these attacks are a result of an anti-Kurdish alliance provided by the Turkey, Iran and Syria. The attacks against the Kurds in the Turkish cities with the fascist statement and the lynching attempts are also brought to attentions in the statement calling the Kurds to develop unity and organize resistance against these attacks.
According to the KCK-statement, after bankruptcy of its fraudulent expansion policy the AKP government is with the changing of constitutional amendments tries to be prepared for the election. “Democratic solution to Kurdish question and Turkey’s democratization is mainly not the AKP’s agenda”, said KCK-statement.
