A letter to Dalai Lama from a Kurdish Boy without home

His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama

Tibetan Government in Exile

Dharamsala, India

I am writing to you with great sadness and great concern about the situation of my people leader Mr, Abdulla Ocalan (APO) in Prison of Turkey. I as an individual Kurdish outside of Kurdistan sending my best regards to you and the people of Tibet.

You’re Holiness,

Kurds are the largest nation in today’s modern and democratic world without its own state. Their land “Kurdistan” has been divided into four separated parts of Eastern Turkey, Northern Iraq, north-west Iran and north-East Syria, since the end of the 1st World War, following the fall of Ottomans Empire. Ever since the Kurds have been denied a fundamental and natural right to live in peace and harmony by those countries and regimes where their land has been divided. Furthermore, they were subjected to all sorts of oppression and atrocities such as killing, kidnapping, massacres, and genocide.

You may be aware that Mr. Abdulla Ocalan (APO) has been in Turkish prison for more than 11 years now after he had been kidnapped by Turkish government in Kenya. Mr. Ocalan right now has been serving a life sentence in a prison on the island of Imrali since his arrest and now he has been in a solitary confinement and has been tortured.

He has been struggling and fighting for almost 33 year for the same cause that you were fighting against Tibet Regime. Due to the similarity of both of you in fighting injustice and struggling for peace, democracy and freedom, I would like to ask you for visiting him in prison personally and by doing so, you will hold a great place in the heart of over 35 million Kurds in the middle east and also it will be a great initiative for finding a solution for Kurdish people in Turkey which are over 20 million people who are facing Turkish Dictatorship policy in daily basis. Also I will be very appreciative if you will be able to defend Kurdish people and their struggle for freedom, peace and independence in any international conferences in the future and ask to free Mr. Ocalan as well. I am hoping that you will accept my proposal by visiting Mr. Ocalan in prison and I will assure you that it will be a great step for bringing peace and justice in the region and also it will bring consolidation between Turks and Kurds and stop more bloodshed between them.

Our people everyday screaming due to their suffering from injustice and policy of Turkey and Iranian government and there military, “Enough is Enough” for bloodshed between Turks, Iranian, Saurian and my Kurdish people. This is a banner of such people who are not allowed to speak in their own mother language, who are their villages have been destroyed and taken away the most basic human rights from them. I as a grade seven student request from your Holiness accept my proposal and I will be waiting for your response.

Yours in Peace

Please accept my best wishes and thanks for your attention to this important request.
