Dozens of political parties and social figures from Kurdistan and around the world have sent messages of condolence following the death of Kurdish politician and veteran activist Saleh Muslim, praising his role in political struggle and in defending the rights of the Kurdish people.
In this context, the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK)also issued a statement expressing its condolences over the death of Saleh Muslim, a member of the leadership council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD). In the statement, PJAK described him as an example of a devoted advocate for Kurdish freedom and a tireless fighter for the freedom of the Kurdish people.
According to the statement released by PJAK’s council on Thursday, March 12, 2026, the death of this Kurdish politician is considered “a great loss for the Kurdish people in all four parts of Kurdistan, especially in Rojava and its freedom movement.”
The statement also referred to Saleh Muslim’s long history of struggle, describing him as one of the most prominent Kurdish political figures and activists who never accepted defeat or despair in the face of the enemies of the Kurdish people and always remained alongside his people.
It further emphasized that during the attacks by Ba’athist forces and the ISIS group on Kurdish regions, Saleh Muslim played an important role in resistance and perseverance, and was among the influential figures in the achievements of the Rojava revolution in recent years.
PJAK’s council also described him as “a model of a committed fighter and a well-known politician” who walked the path of freedom with dignity and honor, dedicating his life to the ideals of the Kurdish freedom movement.
In the final part of the statement, the Kurdistan Free Life Party expressed its condolences to the Kurdish people, especially the people of Rojava and Syria, the Democratic Union Party (PYD), and the families of the martyrs. It stressed that the path and ideals of Saleh Muslim in the struggle for the freedom and rights of the Kurdish people will continue.
