Many regions of Eastern Kurdistan are facing an intensive increased in security measures especially at the eve of presidential election. In Shino County some citizens were arrested and authorities refused to deal or reply to families of arrested members.
According to Firatnews, since last two weeks several people in Shino and its surrounding villages were arrested for unknown reasons and there are no information available on what has happened to them. Furthermore, the government officials and authorities are refusing to reply back to family members of those who were arrested.
It’s been reported that inspection has increased and people are under control due to upcoming election. Many security forces roam in the city hidden in civilian costume, creating a curfew atmosphere in the city and villages.
Simultaneously traders are under more pressure by local hired laborer forces especially in Kelashin and Xakurk.
According to local source reports, five people were arrested during a protest for disqualification of City Council candidates.
