Mother Seltene: 60th day of hunger strike the day of Popular Resistance

SINE, — In a public message titled as “Silence is enough, it is time for resistance”, Mother Seltene the mother of martyr Ferzad Kemangir, has called upon the Kurds to see the days of hunger strike as the days of resistance and not to stay silent.

Seltene Rezayi the mother of Ferzad Kemangir who is known as Mother Seltene said I see that our sons and daughters are sacrificing their lives through pains and agonies; it means that the scale of oppressions and cruelties is so extensive. Do not see the fighting against oppressions and cruelties a mission only on the shoulders of our heroic sons and daughters. This is a national mission, she added.

Our sons and daughters have sustained a hunger strike for the last 58 days, said Mother Seltene in her message, during which they have been wrestling with death but they are steadfast. They have gaols and until their demands are met they continue on the fast.

With such an action, she observed, they have enhanced their resistance. Their goal is our national freedom. We must know that they are sacrificing their lives for our freedom. Their resistance is ours. Everyone must see this resistance as part of his own, she urged.

Addressing the Kurdish nation Mother Seltene says, as a mother, particularly a mother of a martyr I do deeply feel the mothers of the hunger strikers. I urge the Kurdish people across the world to raise their voices in such a sensitive phase and merge with the resisting path of these heroic sons and daughters in order to come out victorious. Let’s all campaign for our own freedom as well as the realisation of demands made by the hunger strikers.

At the end of her message, Mother Seltene has called the 10th November, which is the 60th day of hunger strike, as the day of Popular Resistance and urged the Kurds particularly women and mothers to pour out to the streets in that day to end the agonies and the sufferings of the Kurdish people.
