URMIYE, — Several Kurdish youths were injured in a clash that had happened between them and the IRGC (Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps).
According to local sources, the IRGC have opened fire on the Kurdish people living in a small town around Urmiye called Balo. This was ended up with several injuries from the local people.
The problem started when the elderly and local people from the region were abused by the officers in the police station of the area. This had caused condemnation from the local people by demonstration.
The officers tried to solve the problem by bringing a Shia clergyman who was unsuccessful in silencing the irritated juveniles. Therefore, the officers brought Revolutionary Guards and they opened fires on the people instead of apologizing for the ill-treatment of the local people.
Accordingly several people were injured and the situation of one of them named Seifulla Derwisi is critical. He is still kept in the Intelligence Service of Urmiye.
