PKK’s Annual Council Meeting

PKKDRM, — Kurdistan’s Worker Party (PKK) held its Annual Council Meeting in  the Defence Regions of Medya (DRM) to evaluate the current development in the regional and international arena.

The meeting was attended by 29 permanent members of the organisation and lasted for two weeks. The PKK outlined its political direction for the new period and decided that “it became a historical duty to respond with an enlarged resistance to the AKP fascism”. 

In a statement published on PKK’s official website (http://www.pkkonline.com/), it is remarked that the meeting “was brought to a successful conclusion with multi-perspective and intense discussions”.

The Council meeting was held while significant developments are happening in the Middle East; there is a deepening chaos of the capitalist modernity, intense attacks and operations of the AKP-led Turkish state’s fascism against the Kurdish people and their freedom struggle and intense isolation and psychological torture of Abdullah Ocalan. 

The statement remarked that the significant decisions made during the meeting were “important steps have been defined in line with Ocalan in terms of responding to colonialism and winning the future”. 

The statement emphasized that the discussions during the meeting resulted in reaching the determination and deepness of successfully performing the unfilled duties of the last year.  

“Our movement needs to approach the process with a principled and a broad perspective when it comes to meet all possible developments to be lived in the reality of the Middle East,” the statement ended.
